Nostalgia – Portraits of those who never left

CLiENT: MEC, Museo de las Migraciones y Instituto Italiano UY.

Traveling by car through the South of Italy, through the interior of the boot, you travel across an endless series of beautiful villages perched on the mountain.
When you walk down the alleys, you realize the loneliness and the abandonment you breathe. But if you keep walking, you’ll probably and some old man sitting on the door step of his house, a lady leaning out the window, or a couple of friends at the table of the only bar alive.

These drawings are a tribute to all of them.
Those who remained in their land, who said goodbye again and again to their loved ones,
and who rarely lived the happiness of reunion. Their looks and gestures speak louder than many words.
